BOOK CODE NUMBER INFORMATION
Books with letter code "#T-" are magnificent extra
large "coffee table size" volumes from Turner Publishing and are filled
with painstakingly researched unit and battle histories, gripping first person
accounts as told by the survivors themselves, maps and superior photographs.
"#BP-" coded books are high quality reprints
of original WWII unit histories published by Battery Press. Other codes represent
different publishers. Both "#T-" and "#BP-" coded books
are limited production collectors editions with usually only 500
to 1,500 copies printed.
Many units have both "T" and "BP" versions
of their history. "T" books rely heavily on first person accounts
in addition to the recorded history whereas "BP" books
are generally official history records as interpreted by the author.
Also, many"T" books contain sensitive information which was not available
when the original units histories were printed shortly after WWII. A reference
library should contain both versions.
Most military historians agree that a true picture of past events
can be seen only by studying both the general's view of the whole picture as
well as the narrower but more defined view from the soldier on the front line
or in the tank turret.
