B-29 PACIFIC ACTION: This DVD-R video contains the following two films dealing with the B-29 Superfortress.
"THE LAST BOMB" is about the establishment and execution of long range bombing missions over Japan by B-29 Superfortresses operating out of Guam, Tinian and Okinawa. A good account is given of the difficulties involved in such a long range over-water flight. Key factors such as P-51 Mustang escort timing, plus navigation and rescue support enroute and return are covered. Some exceptional shots include a B-29 ditching off the beach, Japanese Tony's crisscrossing in the bomber formation, and much air to air and air to ground film from the Mustangs. One of the best B-29 color historical films ever produced.
"TARGET TOKYO" Ronald Reagan narrates this film which follows the actual training mission of a B-29 Superfort fron it's field in Grand Island Nebraska, to the reality of a fighter and flack mission over Tokyo. The B29 is named the "Dauntless Dotty". A great action film loaded with historical B-29 footage.
