THE ANGELS: Only a few copies left now out of print-11th AIRBORNE DIVISION IN WWII. The 'ANGELS' fought some of the most difficult missions in WWII's PACIFIC Theater of Operations.

Click to EnlargeTHE ANGELS: 11th Airborne Division History WWII by Lt. General E.M. Flanagan Jr., USA (RET). A complete combat history of the 11th Airborne Division in WWII including its operations in New Guinea - Leyte - Bito Beach - Luzon - Nasugbu - Manila - Los Banos - Malepunyo. Unlike some highly detailed documentary unit histories, this work is truly an exciting read, drawing the reader into the dark jungles and enemy invested mountains of the Pacific islands. It also thoroughly details the most successful airborne POW raid ever recorded which took place near Los Banos, Philippines.

Includes the operations of the 511th Parachute Infantry, 187th Glider Infantry (predecessor of the famed "RAKASSANS" 187th Parachute Infantry Regiment), and the 188th Glider Infantry Regiments. Fighting as both airborne and light infantry as a quick reaction force, this brave Division was sent on some of the most difficult missions in the Pacific Theater of Operations and suffered 614 KIA, 1,926 WIA.

These books are the last remaining stock of the original 1989 6"x9" first edition hardcovers, and may be considered as collectors' items. Operations maps. Photographs. 422 pages.
