The book includes articles and hundreds of photographs originally published in Vietnam for the 25th Infantry Division year books and other publications while the Division was still fighting in Vietnam. The text in this extra large commemorative book was written by several authors shortly after the events described actually occurred on the battlefields. Their writings are largely unedited, perserving the contemporary view of events.
Headquartered in Cu Chi, the 25th fought courageously around the towering mountain of Nui Ba Den, the jungle plains near Cu Chi, the wetlands around Dau Tieng, in the Iron Triangle and Operation Junction City, Operation Attleboro, Operation Cedar Falls, Operation Gadsden, Operation Makalapa, War Zone C, and many other major Operations, during Tet, and in the sweep of enemy forces for the Hau Nghia province, and the 1970 incursion into Cambodia. Includes a Killed in Action list through October 1970, and the citations of the Tropic Lightning's Medal of Honor recipients. The 25th suffered 4,547 KIA and 31,161 WIA in Vietnam, triple its losses in WWII.
