Hitler's plans to invade England were 99% foiled. The tiny exception was the Nazi invasion and occupation of the Guernsey Isles, four small British islands near the seacoast of France. This video presents the story of how the British citizens of The Guernseys survived four years of Nazi occupation. The Germans fortified the island with coastal artillery emplacements, using prison laborers from all over Europe. The Allies never attempted to retake the islands by force, instead bypassing them with the Normandy invasion. The narrator interviews British citizens who lived through the experience.
